OVERVIEW---------------The purpose of this unit is to give trainees a basic understanding of confined space hazards and the general requirements of the OSHA Confined Space Standard.At the conclusion of this unit, trainees will know the difference between a confined space and a "permit-required" confined space. They will also have a general understanding of the hazards associated with working in confined spaces and how to protect themselves from these hazards.OBJECTIVES------------------Confined Space Characteristics * Describe the characteristics of a confined space. * List some examples of confined spaces. * Explain how a "permit-required" confined space differs from one that does not require a permit.
