OVERVIEW---------------The purpose of this unit is to provide trainees with a general understanding of how to minimize their chances of sustaining a back injury.At the conclusion of this unit, trainees will know how to maintain good posture as they go about their daily activities, how to safely lift and move loads, and how to perform some simple exercises that are helpful in maintaining a healthy back.OBJECTIVES------------------Posture * Explain what is meant by the term "good posture". * Describe techniques that can be used to help maintain good posture. Safe Lifting * Describe proper techniques for lifting and moving an object. * Describe proper techniques for carrying a long load, stacking a load, and performing activities that involve twisting or turning. Back Exercises * Describe basic exercises that can be done in an office. * Describe basic exercises that can be done at home or in a gym.
